Water Line Repair
Water line repair fixes the main supply line carrying water from the utility meter to your house — the one pipe every faucet and appliance depends on. When it leaks, you might see a soggy patch in the yard, hear the meter running with everything off, or notice pressure dropping across the whole home. We locate the break, repair or replace the damaged section, and leave the yard tidy.

A meter box that keeps filling in dry weather often means the leak is close to the street-side connection.
When to make the call
Schedule an evaluation when you notice yard wetness that doesn't match the weather, a whole-house pressure drop, or a meter that moves on its own. It's also worth thinking about calmly, before anything is wrong: knowing where your main shut-off valve is, and confirming it turns, is one of the most useful pieces of hurricane-season preparation a Jacksonville homeowner can do. Large lots in Davie, Plantation Acres and Southwest Ranches mean long buried runs from the meter to the house, and coral rock and roots are hard on them. In the older coastal cities the main line may still be galvanized. We pressure-test and locate before we dig, and replace with PEX or HDPE sized for the house.
Jacksonville & the First Coast
Two local forces work against buried water lines here. First, the soil: much of Jacksonville sits on sandy, shifting ground, and in coastal areas like Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra it drains so well a sizable leak can run for weeks without surfacing; settling sand also leaves pipe spans unsupported until a joint gives. Second, the trees: the mature oaks of Mandarin, Ortega, and San Marco send roots straight to any weeping fitting. Older homes may still have galvanized service lines near end of life.

Who is responsible for the water line from the meter to the house?
The homeowner is responsible for the line from the meter to the house; the utility maintains everything up to and including the meter. That holds whether your water comes from JEA, Clay County Utility Authority, or the St. Johns County utility. Street side of the meter, call your utility; house side is the repair we handle.
How do I know if my main water line is leaking?
Close your home's main shut-off valve, then check the meter: if it's still moving, the leak is in the buried line between meter and house. A soggy or bright green streak in the yard, a whole-house pressure drop, or standing water in the meter box point the same way. In sandy soil, the meter test is the most reliable check.
How much does it cost to repair a main water line?
The cost depends on the length and depth of the run, whether one section can be repaired or the whole line has earned replacement, and what sits above it — lawn is simpler to restore than a driveway. We look at the actual line, then give a free estimate and a written, upfront quote before a shovel touches the ground.
Where is my main water shut-off valve?

Can tree roots break a water supply line?
Yes, though roots rarely break a sound line outright; they exploit lines already weeping at a joint. Moisture draws roots in, they wrap the pipe, and growing pressure turns a small weep into a real break — a common pattern under Florida's mature oaks. Repairing the leak and shielding the vulnerable stretch usually settles it.
